Catch-Pop String-Strong

Jelena Popržan (Serbia) and Rina Kaçinari (Kosovo) formed in 2010 their Duo who played last year their big first concert at the Balkan-Fever-Festivals in prestigious Viennese club Porgy & Bess.

An amazing stage-appearance full of humor and with just two string instruments you get a one great surprising groove mixed with a wide repertoire from Balkanfolk, self composed and classical tunes even improvisations of Kurt Weill and Bertoldt Brecht. It's really a show full of energy and great vibe.

Wide experience with other artists: Rina Kaçinari > with the Slovenian band Terrafolk, with the jazzpianist Wolfgang Seligo, with the Ulrich Drechsler Cello Quartett, the singer Nataša Mirković De Ro & the hurdy-gurdy virtuose Matthias Loibner etc. Jelena Popržan > with the Vienna Art Orchestras and her quartet Midas Divas.

Awards - AUSTRIAN WORLD MUSIC AWARD 2011 to recognise and encourage new exceptional talent. Also CATCH-POP STRING-STRONG have been selected as one of the official recommended bands from Austria for 2012/2013. The Austrian Ministries of Culture and of Foreign Affairs announces every other year the new selection of this special program called THE NEW AUSTRIAN SOUND OF MUSIC. The criteria for this is that all selected musicians present the variety of what is Austrian culture abroad. This program sponsors musical performances of Austrian based artists abroad financially.
